This is a Blender Add-on that aims to make stage creation easier! 

Before this, level creation has been a quite complex process and most have given up before they got started. But now, this tool will be a great starting off point for your levels!

This Level creation tool was made with a primary focus on cyberspace levels.

How does it work?

Using the power of Blender 3.6, you can model and create levels then use the included asset pack to place several essential frontiers objects in the level. This add-on will then be able to export the level terrain, generate coordinates and gedit code that tells frontiers what objects to spawn and create a .PCMODEL template for the terrains coordinates.

FAQ:

  • What to do with the gedit code?

Following the level import guide, you will create a gedit folder in your mod. Unpack the gedit pac with HedgeArcPack and hedgeset to open the gedit file. Then copy-paste the code from Blender into this file.

  • What objects will be included in the future?

Our focus is to include as many essential objects as possible. There are many objects in frontiers that is on our to-do list, but there are also objects that are, at the moment, not possible. If you feel like an essential object is missing and you want us to include it in a future version, please suggest it in a comment.

  • Can I make Open-zone levels with this?

Yes, kinda. The process is the same, however the asset pack does not have any open-zone objects right now. You can still generate coordinates information, but you will have to provide gedit code yourself.

  • I get a "permission denied" error when creating the pcmodel template.

This error can be fixed by running Blender as an admin.

  • I get an error when exporting rails or paths called "Attribute error: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'type'". What now?

This error is because blender do not understand that the curve is a curve. Go into edit mode on the problematic rail and select one node. Then exit edit mode. Repeat on all rails causing problems and it should be fixed.

  • My rail stop rendering after a certain distance.

Rails can only be 1000 meters long. Make sure to either keep your rails under that limit or seperate the rail into different curve objects (seperating will most likely lead to the none object error which is fixed by following instruction above).

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • This add-on is only compatible with Blender 3.6. Blender 4.0 is at the moment not supported.
  • Hedgeset is, for the moment, not available prebuilt. Please refer to the Hedgehog engine Discord server(linked on froniters mainpage here on gamebanana: https://gamebanana.info/ for help with this.
  • Testing the levels can be effectively done with the help of Angryzors Devtools which we highly recommend: https://gamebanana.info/
  • This add-on is dependent on Blenders default coordinate system. Therefore it will give weird results if the user changed it in Blender's Settings.
  • Startposition and red rings. If you use these, remember to delete the original gedit code for both, since they will interfere and can cause crashes.
