manhack model recompiled to use an almost perfect recreation of the gib texture UV map by using a UV map wireframe texture found in one of the latest leaks.
also included are options for the texture, including some slightly modified gib textures and a previously unknown manhack texture version seemingly for making the lighting on the model also found in the most recent leaks.
To install, navigate to the local files of half life 2 (through steam), then in the hl2 subdirectory (there should be one for platform aswell) create a folder called custom and put the extracted "early gib UV" folder in the custom folder.
alone this only changes the UV and won't look right with retail textures
included are several options for this
- gibworld lit: for using the gib texture with a bit of lighting applied and selfilum from retail
- gibworld unlit: for using the plain gib texture with the selfilum of retail
- old lighting test: for a recently leaked texture and a custom selfilum
if you want to use the lit gib texture or old lighting texture for gibs only, just delete the "manhack_sheet" vtf and only install the folder structure it is in rather than also installing the manhack model
then start half life 2, if the changes do not appear try restarting steam.
