Seelie Color Matches Active Character

- A Mod for Genshin Impact.

primary preview sec preview img sec preview img

Minor revision to version 5.0 and 5.1 for clarity.

4d Tweak
A small revision using the Remove Underwater Censorship mod to check for being underwater and correct minor toggle issues during surface swimming. Also fixes an occasional toggle issue during swimming on surface water.

Since most users who utilize mods will already own this mod, and as it makes more sense than using Tracking mod to determine whether a character is currently swimming, we updated the code slightly so as to utilize Remove Underwater Censorship mod instead of Tracking mod.

To use properly, the Remove Underwater Censorship mod must first be downloaded; see its requirements section for more details. Also if you still have Tracking.ini on your server you may now delete it unless another mod needs it (unless another mod specifically needs Tracking.ini file ).

Additionally, an issue related to switching into Auto mode while swimming over water has been fixed. Before, when switching into it from manual mode while swimming over it would only register that you had done so but seelie wouldn't physically change until exiting water bodies; now everything works as intended!

Files_seeliecolor5_1.zip offers an overhaul with numerous improvements! 5.0 version now included!

Overhaul:

Now with the ability to customize outline and core colors independently from main-body hue, as well as no wonky behaviors when multiple playable characters are onscreen simultaneously - among many other improvements!

Here we go - this is it: the upload of all updates! Code has been extensively overhauled to address many issues and add many features!!

Now that my code overhaul has completed, non-detection colors such as White can no longer be used as fail-to-check colors; therefore, since white no longer meets that criterion I thought it best to introduce it as usable color option for main-body use.

Additional feature to customize Seelie Core Color as well as Brilliance Seelie Outline Color!

I have introduced 10 colors for outline and core coloring of characters named for elements plus White + Black + Off/none for greater contrast (See images, shown with grey main-body coloring for better viewing)

Traveler also features an outline color change corresponding to his or her current element!

Each character comes equipped with its own auto preset; you can also switch their main body color, outline color and core color between automatic or static indepen-dently of one another.

Below are the toggle keys:

  • Press Ctrl/Shift + Left Arrow for next/previous Outline color change
  • Ctrl/Shift + down-arrow will select the next/previous MAIN-BODY color.
  • Ctrl/Shift + Right Arrow to navigate between CORE colors
  • Ctrl + up arrow (to reset everything back to its Auto slot).

Additionally, toggle keys no longer cycle through colors unless Seelie is active - to reduce accidental color cycles.

Auto slots are your defaults; with changes made to toggle keys and how they function, it should become much harder for accidental switching to static colors. But in case it happens anyways, just go back one toggle slot after borderless/coreless toggle slots for outline/core toggles until you find "Auto", or press Ctrl+up-arrow to quickly reset everything back to auto again.

I have also included the option to switch back into vanilla seelie appearance via Main-body color toggle list's slot just before "Auto", directly after White slot will now disable all modifications, thus showing default seelie and making any side-effects go away.

As soon as a seelie gadget is no longer equipped, all modifications will now automatically switch off; thus enabling you to keep this mod installed even when not wearing its entirety - with no adverse side-effects!

Now the entry/exit animations also correspond with Seelie's main-body color!

Since outline and core colors can now be changed freely, I have changed some main-body colors assigned to characters to take advantage of this enhanced capability.

  • Furina's seelie now changes depending on which alignment she currently falls under.
  • All the following side-effects were caused by the no-water shader and have since been addressed with this update. If any others surface, please report it via this form:
  • Now visible are the bubble effects on Furina's crab, octopus, and seahorse summons!
  • Now, signs that Furina's C6 has activated are easily discernible.
  • Now visible are Kokomi's charge attack's round bubble effects.
  • Now visible on Xingqiu's Skill is its water effect on her blade slash.
  • Rotating swirl effects on Xingqiu's Rain Swords have now become visible, providing more vivid displays.

"Eventually, the code has been modified so that when there are multiple active playable characters present (whether through co-op play or in story/teapot, where playable characters act as NPCs), seelie won't get all wonky by trying to match its color to all at the same time."***

Repaired Barbara's Skill Ring and Kokomi's fish 4.2

BugFixed as soon as it was submitted by Bugfixer
Barbara Skill's Ring and Kokomi Fish now appear correctly when using the no-water-on-seelie shader, so no longer do you need to remove this shader. When activated, these two items temporarily activate seelie's water dripping effect temporarily which fits well given you are using hydro attacks.

Backwards cycle toggle was added 4.1.

Tweak Now
As preset numbers expand, having the option of cycling backwards through them has become ever more critical. Though I had thought to include such functionality before uploading version 4.0, a commenter reminded me about its inclusion shortly thereafter! LOL.

Keep pressing ".," while simultaneously holding Shift to navigate backwards through your list of preset colors instead of forward.

(Please be aware that auto-only variant stays with ver. 4.0 since it does not feature toggle function; both variants feature identical colors and assignments).)

Addition 4.0

I added three NEW colors (blood, brown & royal), along with some adjustments in their assignment among others.
Since red is one of the colors most frequently assigned to characters/skins and more of these would prefer having darker hues of this hue, we added "blood".

Minor adjustments were also made to make the red seelie slightly less orange (and thus redder in terms of its hue spectrum).

Zhongli's outfit provided us with inspiration when selecting which shade of brown we should use as part of this update.

As this area was packed with characters and would benefit from having another shade added, they decided to introduce "Royal Purple".

Fixed Mona's CN skin's position_vb hash code, which had escaped our earlier mass sweep checks for 4.4. I really believe all have now been corrected successfully...

Specific Changes to Color-Character Assignments

Red to Blood Amber Skins include Chevreuse, Dehya and Diluc (both skins), Gaming Hu Tao Lyney Noelle Xinyan

Red to Brown in Color for All the Bennett Brands | Heizou, Tartaglia & Zhongli

Yellow to Curcuma Traveler (male). [This was an error; Aether had darker hair than "Lumine".]

Ocean was switched with Viola Sangonomiya Kokomi; her color combination seemed much better suited. [I can't understand why Ocean wasn't assigned as her first character instead]

Viola to Ocean Mona (CN skin). [I mistakenly assumed CN was more blue.]

Royal Viola to Royal Candace, Cyno, Keqing (DLC skin), Lisa (OG Skin) and Raiden Shogun.

Purple to Blood for Rosaria (both skins). Royal for Fischl (OG skin), Kujou Sara, Yun Jin.

Makes Seelie dynamically change colors according to which character is active or manually toggle each body part's colors so they remain static or both options simultaneously.

This mod allows any seelie gadget to change colors to reflect its active character. While optimized for Mini Seelie: Brilliance, it works just as well with all. There are 18 main-body colors (including current official seelie colors*), 9 outline and core colors to select from; I chose my best combinations using these 3 parts with each playable character in terms of appearance rather than element (most of my choices can still be edited however; since version 5.0, editing these codes requires greater understanding.). Feel free to freely customize or add/ edit colors as desired (editing now requires greater knowledge).

Since Version 5.0 of this mod was released, it automatically disables itself if you aren't using a Seelie gadget - meaning you can always keep this mod installed even when not actively using one - with no negative side-effects from it when not actively using Seelie gadget.

Since Version 3.0

I have combined the auto-change mod and toggle mod into one. Your seelie should automatically switch into auto mode where her colors change according to who is active on screen, although you may toggle through individual preset slots independently for outline, main-body and core colors with various keys INDEPENDENTLY from each other - toggling keys are as follows.
Ctrl/Shift + left arrow (for selecting an Outline color) Ctrl/Shift + down arrow (to change main-body and core colors) And Ctrl + up-arrow to reset ALL options to their Auto slots settings.

Reassign the key by editing the KeySwap sections at the top of SeelieAuto+Toggle.ini file.)

Once you turn off Auto slot, that area of seelie will remain static across ALL characters.
This slot will disable all modifications made by this mod and display her as vanilla, eliminating any side-effects it had on the overworld as a result of her having these mods activated. After Vanilla comes Auto slot and ultimately Blood slot (see image for slot order).
Regarding Outline and Core color slots, following Black is Off and After Off is Auto (see second preview image for clarity on slot order).

Water dripping effects for Brilliance Seelies have been removed altogether as it does not correspond with their color palette and therefore looks out-of-place when present. If you would still like this effect to remain, simply remove "ecdfdd8f57201c3a-vs_replace.txt" file located within ShaderFixes directory - though I cannot promise this won't cause other issues or trigger bugs!

Underwater barrier colors were changed from yellow to white as a default setting, by simply deleting "ff40f2405a9d6964-vs_replace.txt". If you would rather keep the original yellow coloring instead, simply delete this file instead.

Note HoYoverse frequently changes its hash code and shader files for unknown reasons between patch versions, usually without prior warning. As of version 5.0 due to code overhaul, if a game fails to detect a character it simply does not change from what was seen previously (if booting up with one active, they appear entirely black.). If this occurs with any particular character/outfit please notify me so I can fix them quickly (as of mod version 4.0, I should have all characters/outfits working as soon as game Patch Version 4.4!).

Side Effects When you use this mod, parts of different seelie types in the overworld will change to match their main-body colors as seen with Yelan having her Barb shot, including their aura within Spiral Abyss gates as seen on one preview image and even Yelan's bracelet indicating she has it; all a result of using shared shader files with the seelie gadget itself.

Potential Issues
If the colors on your seelie differ from its preview images, deleting its ShaderCache folder might help resolve it.

*Genshin offers many official Mini Seelie gadgets. * Here is the name of some official Seelie gadgets offered here in Genshin.

**New colors have been introduced in Mod 5.0.

Potential Misunderstanding

I have noticed that some individuals may have misconstrued my intentions regarding outline/core color choices.
Outline/core colors were given names of elements simply for flavorful, in-theme names when it came to the coding; their association is unrelated to any character except Traveler in terms of elementality. I could have given red/yellow/green/cyan/lightblue/blue/purple names but decided instead to be creative; something which only caused further chaos than expected...

Color choices should reflect each character's coloring palette rather than elemental makeup; so for instance, someone who exhibits significant amounts of yellow/gold may use "Geo" (yellow) core/outline colors even though they do not belong to that element; conversely a Geo character without much yellow/gold will lack this feature altogether.

Wriothesley's Seelie stands as an exception in this respect - his main body color fitting resembles Cryo and yet lacks light blue to match his appearance; I plan to change that at some later point for consistency's sake, though no preset colors quite match his dark color combination as closely. (Adding another preset only applies when there are so many already present...))

Hopefull this helps clear up some misunderstandings.
